Quartzite is a completely natural type of rock. It is made from sandstone which is metamorphosed into the quartzite form. It is generally mined in large quarries in its raw form and then processed in a plant to make thin slabs of stone. This stone can be transformed into flooring tiles, wall tiles or kitchen countertops. Often,it is prized as marble or limestone because it is naturally mined from quarries. It has natural veining patterns and blotches of gray or white which makes it a preferred material for various renovation projects.
Quartzite shares a similar appearance with engineered quartz. On various occasion ,it is quite difficult to tell the difference between the two. Quartzite comes naturally in gray and white swirls. It is the same pattern that quartz try to imitates. But if we consider in terms of making, texture and toughness, quartzite is actually much more similar to granite.
